Each state has their official bird, flag and flower, but should there ever be an official state restaurant, these tasty spots might make the list. PureWow released their list of the most iconic restaurants across America and Kristina Guerrero has the top three.

1. Loveless Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee

Back in 1951 they started selling fried chicken and biscuits right out the front door. The tradition of serving up good ol’ southern food and hospitality continues as they welcome more than half a million people each year. Clearly, country tunes aren’t the only thing on the menu in Music City.

2. St. Elmo’s in Indianapolis, Indiana

When you got people standing outside just to take a picture you know you have a special place. They have been dishing up mouthwatering steaks at this institution since 1902. They’ve served the rich, the famous and even Ron Swanson…from NBC’s Parks and Recreation.

3. Macayo’s Mexican Restaurants in Phoenix, Arizona

In 1946 Woody and Victoria Johnson opened their first Mexican restaurant and now there are 11 locations in Arizona and Las Vegas using farm fresh ingredients to whip up authentic Mexican specialties. They are credited for creating the Chimichanga.
