National Violin Dayis upon us! That’s right. December 13th is a day dedicated to the majestic sound that can only come from this one-of-a-kind string instrument. And to celebrate, The List is featuring an artist famous for taking the sound of a violin to another level. With almost 30 million views on YouTube, Rob Landes is one of the most innovative violinists on the platform. That’s why we’re celebrating National Violin Day with five of his all-time best covers.

Rob knows how to get his viewers’ attention. Fortnite is the video game phenomenon of 2018 so, as an ode of that, he decided to recreate the video game’s most popular dances on the violin. Avicii’s death in April shocked the world, leaving behind millions of loving fans and followers of his music. Rob decided to pay tribute to the late DJ by covering one of his most popular songs, “Wake Me Up.” The final piece will, needless to say, leave you speechless.
