Elote Recipes: 3 Easy Mexican Street Corn Dishes to Make at Home

Mexican street corn has exploded in popularity. And if you’re looking to get into the latest food craze from the comfort of your own kitchen, we have you covered. The List spoke with the best of the best, The Elote Man Christopher Ajiz, to bring you three elote recipes you’ll want to munch on all day long. 

 

1. Mexican Style Elote Recipes

If you’d like to keep it traditional, go with the Mexican Style elote. Nothing says Mexican street food more than Valentina hot sauce and lime juice together. This is one of the most classic elote recipes!

Ingredients:

  • Mayonnaise
  • Cotija cheese
  • Chili powder
  • Valentina hot sauce
  • Lime juice

Directions:

Spread mayonnaise all around corn and once covered, roll into a bowl of Cotija cheese to coat the outside. Next, sprinkle chili powder on top and finish off with a drizzle of Valentina hot sauce and lime juice.

 

2. Cautro Elote

Next on our list of elote recipes? The Cautro Elote! The toppings are limitless with this one. If you haven’t tried crumbled up chips on top of Mexican street corn, you’re missing out! Here’s how to make them at home.

Ingredients: 

  • Doritos
  • Tostitos
  • Takis
  • Cheetos
  • Mayonnaise
  • Cotija cheese
  • Lime juice

Directions:

Spread mayonnaise all around corn and, once covered, roll into a bowl of Cotija cheese to coat the outside. Next, sprinkle with Cotija cheese, and follow by tossing the corn in crumbled up Doritos, Tostitos, Takis and Cheetos. If you’re not a fan of these chips, you can personalize with your favorite brands!

 

3. Churroelote

Last on our list of elote recipes is the Churrolote! If you’re not a fan of spicy and want to add a touch of sweet to your corn, the Churroelote is for you. It’s definitely an out-of-the-box style of Mexican street corn, but it’s worth indulging your sweet tooth.

Ingredients:

  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon

Directions:

In a bowl, combine cinnamon and sugar together. Set aside. Spread butter all around corn and once covered, toss and roll the corn in sugar and cinnamon mixture to coat entirely. Enjoy!
