Bathrooms in a Bind: 4 Apps to Help You Find Clean Public Restrooms
LifeHacks Show Me Your App The ListWhen the sudden urge to go to the bathroom strikes out of nowhere, options to do it comfortably are sometimes slim! We looked at four free apps that make finding a public restroom a more enjoyable experience.
1. The Stanker
If you’ve ever needed a bathroom in a bind, The Stanker app will help you find a solution. Think of it like Yelp for restrooms. Locate and choose the best bathroom for you based on ratings. The app will even update you with improvements to the bathrooms that you have reported!
2. Charmin Sit or Squat
The next app to get you situated when you’ve got to go is Charmin Sit or Squat. “Just search your location on our map and find the restrooms nearest you,” explains the app’s commercial. “Restrooms marked with green rolls are designated as sit, and restrooms marked with red rolls are designated as squat.” Squat is code for dirty! You can even rate the experience when you’re finished. And everyone with kids out there, get this: Parenting Magazine calls the app one of the best apps for simplifying a parent’s life.
3. Flush
Next up is Flush. This app has a database of more than 100,000 bathrooms, and uses Google Maps to get you there in a cinch. It will even tell you which ones have disabled access, a fee for usage, or require a key! And as an added bonus, Flush works offline so no internet connection is required to find a toilet.
4. Fake Shower
So now that you’ve found a bathroom, what do you do if people on the other side of the door can hear you? Get a load of an app called Fake Shower, which disguises potty noises by simulating the sound of running water. Not only will Fake Shower spare you from embarrassment, but you’ll also save you tons of faucet water!
